Lip Blush Pre & Post Care

BEFORE YOUR LIP BLUSH APPOINTMENT

Proper preparation is essential for beautiful, even healed results.

  • If you have a history of cold sores (HSV-1), obtain an antiviral prescription and begin 2–3 days prior.
  • Avoid lip fillers at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
  • Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, vitamin E, alcohol, and caffeine for 24 hours prior.
  • Keep lips well hydrated the week before your appointment.
  • Gently exfoliate lips 2–3 days before (no harsh scrubs).
  • No chemical peels, laser treatments, or strong exfoliation around mouth within 4 weeks.

Important: Severely dry, cracked, or irritated lips may require rescheduling to protect your results.

AFTER YOUR LIP BLUSH APPOINTMENT

Healing typically takes 5–10 days. Lips will appear brighter initially and soften by 30–50% once healed.

  • Expect swelling and tenderness for 24–48 hours.
  • Apply recommended aftercare ointment frequently to keep lips moisturized.
  • Avoid touching lips unnecessarily.
  • Do not pick or peel flaking skin.
  • Avoid spicy, salty, or acidic foods for 3–5 days.
  • Drink through a straw for 24–48 hours.
  • Avoid kissing, smoking, or excessive friction during healing.
  • No lipstick, gloss, or makeup on lips for 7–10 days.
  • Avoid swimming, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating for 7–10 days.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning during healing.

If you experience a cold sore outbreak, contact your physician immediately for antiviral support.

HEALING EXPECTATIONS

  • Peeling phase typically occurs around days 3–5.
  • Color will lighten and soften after peeling.
  • Final healed results visible around 6–8 weeks.
  • A perfecting session at 6–8 weeks is required for optimal results.

If the perfecting session is not completed within the recommended timeframe, regular maintenance
pricing will apply.

  • Have active cold sores or lip infections
  • Are undergoing chemotherapy (doctor’s clearance required)
